Frequently asked questions

How do live video calls work?

All lessons are delivered via Zoom (or a similar secure platform like Google Meet if preferred), making them interactive and convenient from anywhere in the UK or beyond. You'll join via a simple link I send—no account needed if you use the browser version. During the lesson: We share screens for tabs, chord charts, backing tracks, or theory notes. I demonstrate techniques live while you play along. For the best learning experience (especially technique-focused), I use multiple camera angles to clearly show both hands: one wide/overhead view for overall posture and strumming/picking hand (right hand for most players), and a close-up on the fretting hand (left hand) to highlight finger placement, chord shapes, and shifts.

Can I switch plans later?

es, absolutely—flexibility is key! You can upgrade from the Essentials (£59/month, 2×30 min) to the Progress plan (£89/month, 4×30 min or 2×60 min) anytime, or downgrade if life gets busy. Just let me know by the 25th of the month (via email or our student portal), and the change takes effect the following billing cycle. Upgrading mid-month often includes pro-rated access to extras like premium PDFs or practice plans. This way, you always pay for exactly what suits your progress—no lock-ins.

What are your lesson prices and options?

I offer flexible pricing to suit different needs and budgets: Essentials Monthly Plan: £59 per month – includes 2 × 30-minute one-to-one lessons + access to downloadable PDF resources (chord charts, practice routines, song sheets). Progress Monthly Plan: £89 per month – includes 4 × 30-minute lessons (or 2 × 60-minute if preferred) + premium PDFs, personalized practice plans, video library access, and priority support. Pay-as-you-go: £24 for a single 30-minute lesson or £44 for a 60-minute lesson. Monthly plans are recurring and provide the best value—many students upgrade from Essentials to Progress after seeing quick results. All prices include online lessons via Zoom

Can I cancel anytime?

YYes, you can cancel anytime with no long-term commitment. Monthly plans are recurring but fully flexible—simply notify me in writing (email works best) before your next billing date (e.g., by the end of the current month). The plan will continue until the end of the paid period, and you'll keep access to any included resources (like PDFs or video library) until then. No refunds for partial months, but no penalties or hidden fees either. This keeps things straightforward and student-friendly.

What if I miss a lesson?

With at least 24 hours' notice: You can reschedule to another available slot in the same week/term if my calendar allows—no charge or loss of lesson. Less than 24 hours' notice or no-show: Unfortunately, the lesson is charged in full and cannot be refunded or credited, as the slot is reserved for you and hard to re-fill last-minute. Monthly plan students get priority for rescheduling and one "grace" reschedule per term for genuine emergencies (e.g., illness with quick notice). I recommend setting calendar reminders! If I'm ever unable to teach (very rare), I'll offer a full reschedule or pro-rated refund/credit.

Do you offer any trial or intro options before committing?

Yes—start with a single pay-as-you-go lesson (£24 for 30 min or £44 for 60 min) to test the setup, my teaching style, and Zoom angles. Many use this as their first session, then switch to a monthly plan (often with a small credit applied). Or book a free 10–15 minute discovery video call to chat goals and tech setup—no guitar needed!
